Greg Aden talks with Kim Biggerstaff and Stephanie Zale of Ascent 121, an Indianapolis based nonprofit providing long term trauma recovery services to teen survivors of sex trafficking across Indiana. They explain why recovery is not a six session fix, how survivor mentors shape the treatment protocols, and why every child keeps the same therapist and the same phone number even after running back to a trafficker. Kim shares how a board member serves without being on the front lines, and Stephanie describes what it takes to lead a team of clinicians in difficult work, where compassion, authenticity and being genuinely present matter more than being in charge.
