Cali explains that employee experience is not a list of programs a company offers but a person's perception of everything they encounter from before they are hired through the day they leave, and beyond as an alumnus. She and Greg connect that experience to the customer, borrowing the three questions that matter most in hospitality, will you repeat, will you return, will you recommend. Cali makes the case that most people actually like their work, what they dislike is the prescription for how, when and where it has to happen, and that disengagement usually follows that prescription rather than the job itself.
They get practical about clarity and agreement on results, and Cali offers a simple starting point for the command and control leader, trust your person for one week, do not reach out, then talk on Friday. She also shares how she and her husband applied trust you until we do not with four teenagers, and why it worked at home and works at work.
