Edward Mirza…Example of Servant Leadership

Img_5422

I am highlighting Edward Mirza who is a legend in the hospitality industry.  Though his degree and original journey was in business administration and accounting his true passion came alive when he began his work in the hotel industry.

Edward has shared his experience of living in Africa and his journey to the US.  Learning and experiencing the different cultures taught him patience and humility.   In Africa the cultural thoughts on leadership is that you must not express anger or frustration.  If you do, you are not meant to be a leader.  Such a powerful thought.  To gain trust of the those he led he had to demonstrate the two qualities of patience and humility.

Edward loves to be engaged with people, not stuck in an office from 9 to 5.

The more he traveled, the more he felt he was humbled.  Africa was one of his richest experiences.  He learned from those he served that you do not need much to be happy.

I consider Edward not only a disciple of leadership but an example of servant leadership.  Please take a moment, listen to your heart and reflect on where you are at as a leader.  Is patience and humility present?   Are you adapting when necessary to the culture of those you serve?

Please feel free to reach out to me at AdenLeadership.com if you would like to join me and share your insights and thoughts around service leadership.

In service,

Greg
