Silvia Camarota and Rachel Humphrey on Elevating Women in Hospitality Leadership

Greg Aden talks with Silvia Camarota and Rachel Humphrey about the work of Women in Travel Thrive and why so many women left hospitality and travel during the pandemic. Silvia shares how the organization started in 2020 out of a conversation with a mentor and a colleague who said she was done baking bread and ready to act, and how it stayed a barrier free 501c3 with no membership fees. Rachel talks about her move from 20 years as a trial lawyer to franchise relations and chief operating officer at AAHOA, and what it looks like to give time to causes she believes in. They also walk through the empowerment bundles that help women grow or re-enter the industry with coaching, interview preparation, resume help and headshots, plus the practical ways volunteers, companies and sponsors can pitch in.
