Jen Nash on the Big Power of Tiny Connections

Jen Nash, author of The Big Power of Tiny Connections, joins Greg Aden to talk about how small moments of connection build trust, careers and networks.
Jen explains how to restart a network you already have, including reaching out to someone you have not called in years, asking for two or three introductions after a thirty minute conversation, and sending a customized card that actually gets mailed. She and Greg talk about going deeper earlier with the people you work with, learning family names, and spending three or four minutes on a real question before the project update begins.
They also cover what to do when fear or tension shows up in a room, from taking a deep breath to inviting the whole room to breathe with you, and why curiosity and gentleness with yourself matter. Greg shares his framework of seen, heard, understood, valued and appreciated, along with the three questions he asks every client: what do you want, what are you willing to do, and when will you start.
