Germain St-Denis joins Greg Aden from Toronto to talk about caring leadership and what it takes to build a culture where people can do their best work. He shares results from a small survey he ran with new grads and early career team members, who said they want leaders who are collaborative, supportive, flexible, empathetic and inspiring, and who will help them grow their own leadership skills. Not one of the people he spoke with had ever received coaching on leadership, only on how to do the job, and he and Greg dig into who is responsible for closing that gap. They also cover alignment and accountability, why asking for help makes a leader stronger, the idea of being first among equals, and the untapped talent sitting quietly in your team who will never raise a hand unless you ask.
