Who is Your Champion?

The most successful individuals I know recognize who their champions are in their lives.  I am not talking of the people who stroke our egos, but a true champion who is in your corner and pushes you to be your best.

As you walk the path of leadership, it may be unchartered by others and not make sense to anyone but you.  It can be lonely.  How will we recognize and understand how to maneuver through the situations we face?

Identify who your champions are.  Identify those individuals that will say, “I believe in this person.”  The individual that will be there to remind you of your greatness and assist you to stay centered and move forward with courage.

Ultimately we decide who we want to be and where we go.  Our champions help us along the way by knowing our truths.  We have shared our goals and objectives along with our plan(s) to get there with them.  You know who they are if you have a champion and if you don’t please take a moment to consider who might be that person or persons for you.

We all need someone to lean on at times.  I think of the lyrics from Bill Withers’ song Lean on Me:

Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long
‘Til I’m gonna need
Somebody to lean on

So, may I ask, “Who is your advocate, your supporter, who has your back?  Who is your champion?”

Thoughts to share….
