We Are The Future

Future

It’s not too late to tell the people that you serve and within your community what it is that you believe to be true. It’s not too late to change your values, reset your intentions, and become the person you are meant to be. Too often our older leaders let age be an excuse for being stuck in their ways and not contributing to growth of their company.

Five Ways We Learn

Forbes lists 5 reasons why young leaders are going to change the world and I believe that it is in events and community spaces like THE LEADERSHIP Development Day where these characteristics are fostered in not only younger leaders but in bringing them out in already established leaders.

1.    The desire and willingness to be uncomfortable

a.    THE LEADERSHIP Development Day is meant to help you recognize where you are in your life and as a leader and to push you to go where you want to be.

2.    Intersectionality is a key to change

a.     It is both intersectionality in our teams as well as in our ideas that act as catalysts for change.  THE LEADERSHIP Development Day brings together all kinds of leaders that are coming to this day of development with ways of thinking that may differ widely to the person that speaks before them. Aden Leadership wants to offer this experience to people so that it speaks to everyone in every kind of situation.

3.    There is a strong difference in being an ally and being an accomplice.

a.     For leaders this is an important distinction to make. An ally will voice their support, an accomplice will sit at the table and actively invite others to join the conversations. We hope that being at THE LEADERSHIP Development Day will push people to take action more often.

4.    The daily opportunity to make change

a.     Change doesn’t only happen on holidays or on your birthday when you turn a year older. Change doesn’t always have to be complicated it can be in the mundane processes and these changes can happen at any time. And it will happen on February 4th.

5.    “The Future”

a.     Young people are always given the title the hope of the future and they own it. They make it theirs. We might not all be the youngest people in the room but that doesn’t mean that we don’t have a say in how we shape the future. THE LEADERSHIP Development Day will shape the person that you develop into with strong intention and hope.

While we can’t rewind the clock and go back to the days where we might have been the hope for future or humanity, we can change who we are now to play a part in shaping and bettering the future. We have much to learn from not only each other at THE LEADERSHIP Development Day and so much more from our younger leaders who keep curiosity and passion close to their hearts.
