[invitation] Climb To Freedom Premiere Film Screening

In February 2011, I joined a group of seven called The Aconcagua Man Project and began our ascent up Mt. Aconcagua: the highest mountain outside of Asia. The preparation and eventual climb marks a year-long psychological and physical journey and the personal breakthroughs that came from it.

Join me this Thursday, April 10, at 6:00 p.m. for the premiere screening of Climb to Freedom, a documentary that chronicles our adventures in personal growth and leadership. The best part is that the event proceeds will benefit Big City Mountaineers, a youth organization that helps to instill leadership skills starting early.

From the Big City Mountaineers website: Big City Mountaineers transforms the lives of under-served urban youth through wilderness mentoring expeditions that instill critical life skills. We partner with community-based youth organizations and caring adult volunteers who act as mentors in the field to help young people realize their potential. Our curriculum improves integrity, self-esteem, responsibility, decision-making abilities and communication skills in close to 1,000 youth annually. Big City Mountaineers has a proven track record of improving young peoples’ lives with: increased likeliness to stay in school, reduction in violence, reduction in drug use.

Be sure to get your tickets early; seating is limited. I look forward to seeing you there!

Whether we climb physical or inner mountains, these intense adventures require courage, trust and commitment to move through even the most difficult moments, raising the question, “What’s Your Aconcagua?” Reply in the comments below.
